The Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria has many beautiful sea-beaches: they can be reached very easily by car from Cetraro (in a time typically ranging from a few minutes to two hours, one way).

In addition, there are villages on the coast with preserved, interesting ancient urban centres, such as:

ü FIUMEFREDDO 35 km

ü TROPEA 130 km

Ø SILA Mountains (by car, about 2 h, one way)

Ø AMALFI, RAVELLO and POSITANO (by car, about 3 h, one way)

Ø POMPEI: The Roman II Century B.C. “buried” city (preferably by car, about 2 h 30’, one way)

Ø REGGIO CALABRIA: National Archaeological Museum, IV Century B.C. Ancient Greek sculptures “Bronzi di Riace” (2h by train from Paola)

Ø PAESTUM: very well preserved “Doric” style ancient Greek temples of IV and V Century B.C. (about 2h 30’ by car)

Sightseeing tour to Diamante

17:00	Departure from Hotel
17:20	Arrival in Diamante, originally a fisherman coastal village
17:30 – 19:30	Visit of the village, its “murales” and its very peculiar narrow closes (named “vicoli”) Shopping at the typical local shops
19:30	Departure. Estimate arrival time in Cetraro (just in time for the dinner)

SHOPPING ADVICE

IN DIAMANTE:

Many shops sell local preserved foods and “PEPERONCINO” (peperoncino shops are worth to be visited).
